On Sunday 18 July Nelson Mandela turns 92. Last November the United Nations declared his birthday Nelson Mandela International Day which is a call to action for people all around the world to make a difference in the places in which they live and work. It is the day that people across the globe band together to serve the communities around them and work toward a better tomorrow.
The Elders are an independent group of eminent global leaders, brought together by Nelson Mandela, who offer their collective influence and experience to support peace building, help address major causes of human suffering and promote the shared interests of humanity.
