State
water cuts went into effect June 1, and City of San Diego customers are
mandated to cut our collective water usage by 16%. To meet this
requirement, we'll need your help.
Reducing
landscape irrigation is the best way to meet that 16% reduction goal.
We are urging customers to cut the watering of their landscapes to no
more than two days per week, for 5 minutes per day.* Also, to reduce evaporation and get the most out of your watering, water only after 6 pm and before 10 am. Below is a schedule of watering days for San Diegans.
|
*The 5-minutes-per-day time limit does NOT apply
to landscape irrigation systems using water-efficient devices,
including drip and micro-irrigation systems and stream rotor
sprinklers. However, these water-efficient systems should follow the
two-day-per-week schedule above, as well as the time-of-day schedule
requiring that you water no earlier than 6 pm and no later than 10 am.
