Gong Hey Fat Choy

To those who celebrate the Lunar New Year,
here's wishing you "Gong Xi Fa Cai" as you prepare for the grand celebration.

The most common Chinese ways of saying Happy New Year are Gong Xi Fa Cai (Mandarin) and Gong Hey Fat Choy (Cantonese). Even though the pronunciations are a little different, both are written the same way.

TANGERINE IS "GOLD"

During this season, the Chinese people visit family and friends, bringing with them tangerines as gifts.
We associate tangerines with "gold", thus it's like bringing prosperity to the people we visit.
Tangerines are generally sold 2-dozen to a carton, and most traditional Chinese households will stock-up with at least 2-3 cartons.
It's the same at my home and I'll be having tangerines for the next week or two!

HEALTH BENEFITS OF TANGERINE:
- Very rich in vitamin C, a powerful natural anti-oxidant
- Helps lower cholesterol
- Helps with collagen synthesis
- Promotes wound healing
- Anti-aging and anti-cancer properties
- Prevent neuro-degenerative diseases
- Helps improve eye health
- Helps with iron absorption
- Super immunity booster
